Close to 25,000 Left Without Electricity in Queensland and Victorian Regions Following Powerful Storms
Around 25,000 households in south-east Queensland woke up lacking electricity on Monday morning after severe thunderstorms impacted the area, generating strong winds reaching 109 kilometers per hour.
Massive Ice Stones and Extensive Damage
Homeowners reported substantial frozen pellets as large as 7 centimeters in some areas. The Bureau of Meteorology verified that multiple regions across the state had been impacted by large hailstones.

Utility workers were working to restore energy supply throughout the impacted areas, with nearly 70 crews deployed to handle the widespread outages.
Victorian Climate Difficulties

State Emergency Services responded to 598 calls for help across the area, primarily for structural issues but also for downed trees and inundation.
