Emma Raducanu made it to the third stage in three out of four major tournaments this year.

The British tennis star Emma Raducanu will not compete in her remaining competitions in 2025 because of the illness she has been fighting in recent days.

At 22 years old had planned to participate in events in Asia but opted to return home to recover prior to beginning next year's training.

Those preparations will involve her coach Francisco Roig, as both individuals will keep partnering in 2026.

She underwent blood pressure monitoring during her first-round match against Ann Li in Wuhan last week and withdrew when behind 6-1 4-1 on a day with extreme humidity.

Another medical visit was necessary a visit from the doctor at this week's Ningbo Open, where she was defeated in three sets to Zhu Lin, a Chinese wildcard in the opening round.

Her movement was noticeably restricted in the final set against Zhu because of a lower back issue that has affected her on several occasions in 2025.

Such performances followed a positive campaign, in which the player advanced into the top 30 globally for the first time since her previous ranking, ended with three successive defeats.

She held three match points prior to falling to American player Jessica Pegula in round three in last month's Beijing event.

The player achieved twenty-eight matches during 2025 and reached the semi-finals in Washington, but her standout performance was at the Miami event in March.

As Britain's top player reached the quarter-finals of the WTA 1000 event, beating eighth seed Emma Navarro en route before losing in three sets to the world number four Pegula.

She worked with trainer Mark Petchey between Miami and Wimbledon, with Roig assuming the role ahead of the US Open.

The original arrangement with Rafael Nadal's former coach was until the end of the season but the partnership will continue, with a training block pencilled in in the coming months.

The athlete revealed that the trial session alongside Roig after Wimbledon was like a "secret mission" as they tried to keep the meeting secret.

She nearly succeeded to defeating top-ranked Aryna Sabalenka at their initial event as a team in Cincinnati in August.

Roig joined her in the New York tournament, where she made the third stage prior to losing to 2022 Wimbledon champion Elena Rybakina.
