White House Condemns 'Democratic Hoax' as Additional Jeffrey Epstein Photographs Disclosed
Democratic lawmakers have released a new tranche of what they described as "troubling" images from the property of convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, depicting notably Donald Trump, Bill Clinton, and ex-UK prince Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor.
The first release of 19 images—some of which have been previously circulated—along with another 70 unveiled later on Friday account for a tiny fraction of the approximately 100,000 images handed over to the House oversight committee, which is examining the actions and ties of Epstein.
The disgraced financier was a victim of apparent suicide in a New York jail cell in 2019 after being accused of sex-trafficking crimes.
High-Profile Individuals in the Images
Included in the high-profile individuals seen in the initial batch are public figures featuring movie maker Woody Allen; Microsoft creator Bill Gates; and Richard Branson, originator of the Virgin conglomerate.
Donald Trump is pictured in three of the first nineteen images. In one, he is photographed with six women, whose faces are blacked out.
White House Statement
The White House addressed the release in a official comment, accusing Democrats of selectively "cherry-picking" the pictures for political purposes and to "seek to establish a false narrative."
"That partisan falsehood against President Trump has been time and again refuted," a presidential representative stated, insisting that "the current government has done more for Epstein's survivors than Democrats ever have by frequently urging disclosure, disclosing thousands of pages of records, and calling for additional probes into Epstein's Democrat friends."
Congressional Democrat Comment
The photos were disclosed without context, but according to a Democratic representative from California and ranking member of the investigative panel, they elicit additional doubts about Epstein's links with affluent people.
"Now is the occasion to stop this White House obfuscation and secure justice to the victims of Jeffrey Epstein and his powerful friends," he said in a comment.
The publication of these images occurs alongside the House panel pressing on with its probe into the Epstein matter.
